Artist Biography
Sarah Hessinger (b. Buffalo, New York) is an artist living and working on Maui. In 2018, she presented a solo exhibition at Gallery 32 in Guerneville, California. Her work has been exhibited at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art in Novato, California; A.I.R. Gallery in Brooklyn, New York; the Jansen Art Center in Lynden, Washington; and The Post Office in Port Ewen, New York, as well as in exhibitions in Seattle, Portland, Maui, Chicago, and San Francisco. In 2023, PeaceHealth Medical Group acquired her painting Tethered for its collection in Washington State. She received international recognition in 2019 with an 18th-place finish in a Juxtapoz Magazine competition. In 2024, she completed the Living Room Residency in Manhattan, New York. In 2026, she will attend the Chautauqua School of Visual Arts Self-directed Two-Week Residency in Chautauqua, NY. Hessinger's work is also included in this year's seventh edition of Upstate Art Weekend at ADS Warehouse in Newburgh, NY.
